NTU Wins “Outstanding Support for Students” at THE Awards Asia 2025🏅

NTU’s INT System (Illuminating, Navigating, and Transforming: NTU's INT System for fostering self-directed learning) was awarded the Outstanding Support for Students prize at the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia Awards 2025. Selected from among 80 shortlisted institutions, NTU became the first university in Taiwan to receive this prestigious recognition. The award was judged by an international panel that included representatives from Harvard University (USA), the University of London (UK), and Tohoku University (Japan) 🏫✨.

The judging panel highly praised the INT System for its student-centered approach, integrating academic and career support through a comprehensive framework. This includes systematic theme-based Specialization Programs, flexible and self-directed University Interdisciplinary Bachelor's Program (UIBP), and professional academic advising services, creating a support system that is both broad in scope and deep in impact 💪🏻. The judges further recognized NTU’s academic advising services for effectively linking external faculty and industry mentors, creating a strong bridge between academics and careers, and expanding students’ future opportunities.

To date, the Academic Advising Office (AAO) has served nearly 3,000 students. This year, the office introduced the "Illuminating Advising Cards", a set of practical tools that transform key principles of learning planning into actionable insights. These cards help students clarify their learning motivations, interests, and future directions, and are used alongside one-on-one meetings with academic advisors to help students map out their academic and career journeys 🗺️.
