Who are peer mentors?
Peer mentors are students who have had academic advising meetings with us and are enthusiastic about sharing their experiences. Students can join us as the AAO peer mentors when they fill out the post consultation self-evaluation forms after meetings.
How does Peer Mentor Consultation work?
Students can apply for Peer Mentor Consultation within one year after academic advising meetings. Advisors will arrange suitable peer mentors and schedule consultations for students. Peer mentors will provide one-hour one-on-one consultations. After the consultation, students need to fill out post consultation self-evaluation forms to complete the procedure for this consultation session.

Who are the Professional Mentors?
Professional Mentors include industry practitioners and NTU faculty members from various fields. Industry practitioners are outstanding people recommended by different NTU programs and NTU faculty members are enthusiastic and dedicated professors invited by the AAO.
How does Professional Mentor Consultation work?
Students can apply for Professional Mentor Consultation within one year after academic advising meetings. Advisors will arrange suitable professional mentors and schedule consultations for students. Professional mentors will provide one-hour one-on-one consultations. After the consultation, students need to fill out self-evaluation forms to complete the procedure for this consultation session.
How do I apply for the Professional Mentor Consultation meeting?

Can I consult a specific industry practitioner?
You may browse the AAO's industry practitioner list on our website and tell us in the application form that who you would like to consult with. Advisors will try to arrange the mentor first.
Do the AAO provide academic advising and other services to non-NTU students?
Currently the AAO services are provided to NTU students only. If non-NTU students need academic advice, please seek help from the faculty, staff and student supporting units (such as student counseling center or career center, etc.) of their universities.
Do I need to prepare any information before the meeting?
No, but we strongly suggest you to provide transcripts, course schedules, psychological test results, etc. as references, so that the advisors are able to offer you personalized advice. You can upload the documents to the booking system while scheduling an appointment or bring them to the meetings.
What questions do students often ask?
What courses will be beneficial to my future? How can I make an interdisciplinary learning plan? Will it be helpful to my future if I have independent study/internship/oversea exchange experiences? What can I do if my current study is not what I expected? I am eager to learn many things, but how can arrange them during university? Should I seek for a higher education or start working after graduation? What are the effects of withdrawal classes or delay graduation? How can I learn from the experiences of peers/seniors/industry mentors/professors? How can I choose learning resources suitable for me? How can I increase my learning effectiveness? What should I do if I do not have a clear idea about my future? How can I arrange my self-learning plan for summer/winter vacation? When can academic advising meetings be scheduled? How are they conducted?
Academic advising is an appointment-based service, and students can make an appointment between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm every Monday to Friday. The academic advising meeting is an one-hour one-on-one session.
Can I get advice on Intercollegiate Course Selection?
Yes, you can. As everyone has different needs for course selection and may face different circumstances, it is recommended that you prepare a list of courses you would like to select and discuss it with the academic advisor in the meeting.
What other assistance can I get after the meeting?
After the meeting, you can make your own follow-up action plans. If you need academic advisors' further guidance, you are welcome to make another appointment. The Academic Advising Office also provides Peer Mentor Consultation and Professional Mentor Consultation services which you can utilize after the meeting.
I am not sure if I am suitable for applying for UIBP. Can I discuss it with an academic advisor?
Yes, having a discussion with an academic advisor can help you clarify your thoughts and needs. Afterwards, you can then evaluate whether to apply for UIBP.
I am interested in applying for UIBP. What do I need to prepare before the meeting?
It is recommended to visit relevant websites to gather information regarding UIBP, Specialization Programs, Programs, etc. Besides, please specify the topics you wish to discuss with the academic advisor in the appointment request form. You may also choose to upload your UIBP proposal in the system as a reference in the meeting.
