Do I need to prepare any information before the meeting?

No, but we strongly suggest you to provide transcripts, course schedules, psychological test results, etc. as references, so that the advisors are able to offer you personalized advice. You can upload the documents to the booking system while scheduling an appointment or bring them to the meetings.

What questions do students often ask?

What courses will be beneficial to my future? How can I make an interdisciplinary learning plan? Will it be helpful to my future if I have independent study/internship/oversea exchange experiences? What can I do if my current study is not what I expected? I am eager to learn many things, but how can arrange them during university? Should I seek for a higher education or start working after graduation? What are the effects of withdrawal classes or delay graduation? How can I learn from the experiences of peers/seniors/industry mentors/professors? How can I choose learning resources suitable for me? How can I increase my learning effectiveness? What should I do if I do not have a clear idea about my future? How can I arrange my self-learning plan for summer/winter vacation? When can academic advising meetings be scheduled? How are they conducted?

Academic advising is an appointment-based service, and students can make an appointment between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm every Monday to Friday. The academic advising meeting is an one-hour one-on-one session.

Can I get advice on Intercollegiate Course Selection?

Yes, you can. As everyone has different needs for course selection and may face different circumstances, it is recommended that you prepare a list of courses you would like to select and discuss it with the academic advisor in the meeting.

What other assistance can I get after the meeting?

After the meeting, you can make your own follow-up action plans. If you need academic advisors' further guidance, you are welcome to make another appointment. The Academic Advising Office also provides Peer Mentor Consultation and Professional Mentor Consultation services which you can utilize after the meeting.
